- When playing with 3 players (2 males and 1 female, or 2 females and 1 male), the genders do not need to alternate but one female player must play either skip or vice, and one male player must play either skip or vice (i.e. teams can have a rotation of FMM or MFF).
- One female and three males are permitted if an exception is granted by the league coordinator. Exceptions will be based on years of curling experience and will only be given to less experienced teams. The female player must throw third or skip’s rocks. Spares must be female until there are 2 females playing on the team.
- One male and three females are permitted if an exception is granted by the league coordinator based on years of curling experience. No restrictions on throwing order. Spares may be of either gender.
- Maximum of 10 teams.
- Round 1: Regarless of the number of teams, Round 1 will be a seeding round. Each team will play against all of the other teams in the league one time each.
- Round 2: If either 8 or 10 teams are registered for Saturday Evening Mixed, the league will be divided into A and B divisions with 4 or 5 teams each. If fewer than 8 teams register or if there is an uneven number of teams, all teams will play in the same division. If there are two divisions, teams will be divided into A and B divisions based on their point totals from Round 1.
- Rounds 2,3,4: Teams will play a round robin against all other teams in their division. If there are two divisions, at the end of each round, the bottom team in Group A will be demoted to Group B and the top team in Group B will be promoted to Group A. Promotions / demotions will be based only on the points accumulated in the current round-robin and not the season standings.
Points are awarded as follows:
Games in the A division will be 10pts for a win, 5pts for a tie, 3pts for a loss, 0 pts for a forfeit
Games in the B division will 8pts for a win, 4pts for a tie, 2pts for a loss, 0 pts for a forfeit
Please report all FORFEITS to the league rep as the standings will need to be manually adjusted.
Skips/Vices are responsible for recording the win/loss/tie on the CVCC website following conclusion of each game.
Awards
The team with the most points at the end of the season will be awarded the “Saturday Evening Trophy” for best record for the season. The names of the team members will be engraved on the trophy for posterity.
Byes
The inclusion of bye weeks for teams will be dependent on the number of team that register for the league. Byes will only be available to teams if an uneven number of teams register for the season, or if there are more than 8 teams.
Bye Requests will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
An end is deemed to have completed once the final rock of the end has been thrown and has crossed the near hog line. Use the countdown clock on the far end of the ice to keep track of your remaining time until the bell.
