    DESCRIPTION
    A fixed team division with draws Wednesday evening rotating between 7:00 and 9:15 pm. Individual members will be placed on teams with vacancies. This is an "Open" league so any combination of genders on a team is allowed.

    LEAGUE SETUP
    The format is the same as the Tuesday and Thursday Evening Open leagues. 
     
    Wednesday Evening Open will have 20 teams. There will be 5 draws (periods of 5 weeks each with reshuffling of teams using total points to date).
     
    Draw #1 will be a seeding draw. Teams will be into 4 pools of 5 teams, split based on last year's standings.
     
    Following completion of the each draw, teams will be ranked by total season points earned to date. The top 10 teams will be in the A Division and divided into 2 pools of 5 teams, approximately split based on the standings to date (some adjustments are made to accommodate bye requests and to ensure teams can play a variety of opposing teams). The bottom 10 teams will be B Division and divided in the same manner as the A division. 
     
    In Draw # 5, teams will be ranked by points earned to date and split into 4 divisions (i.e., teams ranked 1-5 will play in the A Division, 6-10 in B Division, 11-15 in C Division, and 16-20 in D Division).
     
    Ties in the standings will be broken by head to head in the standings so far with a team in a higher division getting the advantage. When tied teams have not played each other, ties will be broken by random draw (in the case of ties after the seeding draw, this will be a marble race). 

    Points for the leagues will be as follows:
    Division A               Win=8, Loss=2, Tie=5
    Division B               Win=7, Loss=1, Tie=4
    (Note: For Draw #5, Divisions A and B points will be worth 8-2-5. Divisions C and D will be worth 7-1-4.)

    All Forfeits = 0 points. Please report all forfeits to the league rep. 
     
    Skips/Vices are responsible for recording the win/loss/tie on the CVCC website following conclusion of the game. 
     
    5th/6th NAMED TEAM MEMBER
    Teams may identify a 5th and 6th team member as alternates once the team has four paid-in-full members. Alternates can be anyone that has paid club fees – this includes someone that has paid spare fees only (but excludes a social membership). Alternates can play in any position.
     
    SPARING
    Everyone who has already registered for a league or joined as a "Spare Member" can spare in this league. "Youth Members" must be 14 or older to spare in this league. Non-members of CVCC can spare (refer to https://cityviewcurling.ca/index.php/member-s-home/other/frequently-asked-questions/691-can-non-members-spare).
     
    Spares cannot be used by a team until the team has four paid-in-full members.
     
    Spares cannot fill positions higher than the person being replaced. No more than two spares are allowed per game unless agreement is reached between both teams to use three spares.

    BELL RULE
    The bell signals to finish the end you are in! No extra ends or tie breakers.
     An end is deemed to have completed once the two teams agree on the score for that end. If this occurs before the bell sounds, you may begin another end. Use the countdown clock on the far end of the ice to keep track of your remaining time until the bell.


    The bell in the early draw will go off at 8:50pm. The bell in the late draw will go off at 11:05pm.

    DESCRIPTION
    The Tuesday Evening Open Early League is suitable for someone who has been through a Learn to Curl program or has limited curling experience (under 7 years). This is an "Open" league so any combination of males/females on a team is allowed.  There is one draw playing from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. There is a focus on sportsmanship.  No aggressive behaviour is tolerated. Games are 6 ends or until terminated by the buzzer. 
    The bell signals to finish the end you are in! 

    An end is deemed to have completed once the final rock of the end has come to a rest. If this occurs before the bell sounds, you may begin another end.  The bell in the 5:00pm draw goes off at 6:35pm. Teams must vacate the ice by 6:45.

Spares should come from the Tuesday early league and/or the Learn to Curl / Development league and the spares list before other curlers are approached. Spares should have less than 10 years lifetime curling experience (including youth experience). Where possible games will be rescheduled. If you reschedule/forfeit, then PLEASE contact your opponent ASAP, and notify the league rep.  If 4 spares are used in order to avoid forfeiting the game, the team with 4 spares will not earn points for the win.
