    Hendrik Mollema Obituary

Hank peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the age of 73, finishing his courageous year-long struggle with glioblastoma.

Beloved husband of 49 years to Elaine. Devoted father to Dee, Elizabeth (Ian) and Kathleen (Guillermo). Proud and loving grandfather to Annabelle and Beatrix. Predeceased by mother, Myntje (Mary) and father Daam (Dan). Cherished brother to Don (Maryvonne), Cor (Liz), Pat (Clarence) and Sylvia (Art) and treasured brother-in-law to Laura (Tim) and Dave (Kim).

Born in Galetta, Ontario, Hank was the first child born in Canada to the Mollema's. The family lived in farming communities east of Ottawa and Blackburn Hamlet. He graduated from Humber College in Landscaping, later pursuing his love of trees becoming a certified Arborist. Hank worked for many years with the National Capital Commission. The last 18 years of his career, Hank was co-owner of TerraPro Corporation where he worked with a great team of owners and staff maintaining many of Ottawa's NCC lands, including Parliament Hill and the Capital's tulip displays.

Hank's later years were greatly enriched by curling at Cityview Curling Club where he made treasured friends during his 15 years of membership. In retirement, Hank enjoyed travel, music, and good times with decades-long friends, especially at his favourite place, the cottage on Palmerston Lake. Hank loved the lake, the trees, the outdoor life and the wonderful neighbours and forever friends made there. Most of all, Hank loved his peaceful times at the lake and all the family times at the cottage.

Thank you to the wonderful Care Staff and management at Amica Westboro Park. Special thanks to Dr. A. Douglas for his excellent care that made Hank's last months with Elaine at Amica as pleasant as possible. Hank bravely met the challenges of the past year with perseverance; enjoying his children and grandchildren, grateful for the many visits from family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held at the Highland Park Visitation Centre, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, ON on Saturday, May 2nd from 1:00PM until the time of the Celebration of Life at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Food Bank or World Vision Canada would be greatly appreciated.

    April 14, 1965 - December 12, 2025

Marc Chan, a beloved father, family member and friend passed away with loved ones by his side on December 12, 2025, at the age of 60, after living a very fulfilling life.
Marc is survived by his children, Cordelia Chan and Calvin Chan; his mother, Lucile Rivard; his sisters, Nancy Chan (Richard Fortin) and Sharon Chan and his brother, Jason Chan. He also leaves behind his nieces Cyndie Boily , and Lola Chan-Gauthier and nephew Dylan Chan-Gauthier.
He was born on April 14, 1965 in Alma, Quebec. Throughout his life he was known for his kindness, devotion to his family and humor. He made sure that he was someone his family and friends could always rely on. He always said he didn’t like people but I think we all know he loved meeting and talking to new people.
Marc had many hobbies. He loved cooking, going to the movies, listening to music, going to the gym and doing any activities with his children. He was an avid curler and he will be missed dearly by his friends at the City View Curling Club.

Allan Gordon Harris passed away in Penticton, B.C. on June 3, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.  He was 81.  Al was President of our club for the 1998-99 season.  He was very active in the club, in the men's evening and the Friday night mixed leagues, from 1989 until he moved to Osoyoos, B.C. in 2005.  He skipped the 2001-02 Men's League Club Championship team.  He continued to curl and golf when he moved to Osoyoos.  He is survived by his wife Pat, son Brett (Elizabeth) and 2 grandchildren.

Sadly, after a brave and dignified battle with cancer, our beloved Judy passed away on Saturday May 10th, 2025 at the age of 77.  Judy is survived by her long time partner, Terry Holmes, her daughter Donna (Jed Narraway) and son Mark, step children Jennifer (Jerry Lovins), Dustin (Heather) and Brenden (Katrina). Judy also leaves behind a broken hearted group of relatives including 16 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many cherished friends. Judy was born in Toronto to Frances and Russell Page. At 10 years old her family (siblings Nadine, Peter and Marshall) moved to Ottawa. Judy always loved music and became a very talented pianist and vocalist. Throughout her life, Judy sang in many different churches, festivals and choirs. Her music took her everywhere from cathedrals in Europe to the Tweedsmere Hotel with her rock band, Second Time Around (60’s Cycles). Judy began her teaching career at 20 years of age, and ended her career 36 years later, teaching English as a Second language at Blossom Park PS in 2003. She’s described by colleagues as embracing her teaching with energy, creativity, compassion and unconditional commitment. Besides her beauty and musical abilities, Judy was known for her gorgeous gardens, good taste in home decor and style. She will be sorrowfully missed by her much-loved dogs, and her curling, bridge, teaching and golf companions. Judy is now at peace, with her Lord and Saviour in heaven. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St. from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday May 20. A Service in Memory of Judy will be held at Parkway Pentecostal Church, 7275 Parkway Rd. in Greely on Wednesday May 21 at 10:45 am.  Condolences may be left at www.daleyffh.ca
